At times you get into a scenario when you have worked on a file and it is closed, for some reason, without being saved. It results into data lose to the extent it is not saved.

In Excel, default auto recover time interval is 10 minutes. If no change has been made in default settings then either you will not lose any substantial data or you will lose data for maximum 10 minutes.

How to Recover Unsaved Workbooks?

There are two ways to go to “Recover Unsaved Workbooks” Folder.

Method – I:
Go to File / Recent / Recover Unsaved Workbooks.
You can find “Recover Unsaved Workbooks” folder at bottom on right side. Once this folder is opened, you can recover the file.

Method – II:
Go to File / Info / Manage Versions —-> Recover Unsaved Workbooks.
Unsaved files can be recovered from this folder.
